We will not have access to most of the Church, including where we'll sleep, until after 9:00 PM. There's an ethnic (Ukranian?) Church that meets on Thursday, hence the limited access. I'm trying to arrange a space for our luggage for during the day. There is (I have heard... hopefully) a mall close by the church so we can hang out, eat, etc. until night-time.
For the SS women staying with Emily, Rosie, or Jillian: you might want to leave your large bag with us at the church and only take your carry-on to spend the night. Either way, but I'd be glad to watch them and put them on the bus in the morning.
Men: you've got very little space in your Malibu quarters. If you're still trying to decide, a duffel bag is better than a hard suitcase.
The bus will meet us at the church at around 11:00 AM Friday morning, May 30. The Summer Staff will be on one bus, and the Work Crew on the other. See you there.
For the women staying with Emily and Rosie: The bus will not stop in Lynnwood so you'll have to drive to the church in the morning. Sorry, the bus company would charge extra for the stop. See you at the church in Des Moines before 11:00 AM Friday morning.
For the four women staying with Sarah in Vancouver: The bus will stop near the border-crossing to pick you up. Meet at Campbell River Store in South Surrey, 8th Ave. & 176th St. at 1:00 PM Friday afternoon.
Money
Border Crossing: Did you all get a confusing message from Egmont about paying at the border? It confused me. We don't have to pay to work in Canada, so that's good. You must have your ID with you. Passport or (what?) driver's license and birth certificate. (There's a chance the border will make us pay anyway, even though we're not supposed to. Hopefully not. They take credit cards, debit cards, cash, traveler's checks.)
Bus/Ferry/T-shirt: We pay Jacqueline when we get to Egmont on Friday night. It's $94 U.S. for the bus/ferry/ship/t-shirt. Egmont takes CC/Debit/Cash/Check/TCs.
Buying Stuff at Malibu: The office can exchange U.S. cash for Canadian. Malibu also takes CC/TC, but no Debit cards.
Guitars/Music
One more thing... guitars. I've got Mark, Matt O., and Sarah down for bringing their guitars. I think that's enough. Does one more person want to bring one, just in case? How about a bass guitar? I hear program is looking for a little more beef in the club band. Let me know
This might be the last message before we're all together in nine days! I can't wait!
