Administration
To provide assistance to the daily administrative operation of camp and
assist the office manager. Supervisor: Office Manager
Office Assistant - Must be a proficient typist, detail oriented, and have strong social skills. Will assist Camp Office Manager with the day-to-day running of the camp office. Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, ACT) an asset.
Food Service
To feed all persons housed on the property in a quality, timely and
economical manner as directed by the Food Services Manager. Supervisor: Head
Cook
Kitchen Staff (5) - Must enjoy cooking! Knowledge and experience an asset. Will assist the Head Cook as directed. Works closely with Work Crew.
Baker - Prepares breads and desserts under supervision of cooks.
Guest Services (Operations)
To maintain and operate camp facilities and provides necessary support
and services to all guests in a manner consistent with property goals.
Supervision: Guest Services Coordinator
Housekeeping (3) - Will work under the direction of the Housekeeping Interns to assure camp housekeeping services are performed with excellence. Previous Malibu work experience preferred. Knowledge of housekeeping and laundry practices and procedures helpful. Two SS will supervise the Laundry and one SS will assist in the Linen Nook.
Sound Tech - Will work under the direction of a Property Staff Intern to provide technical support for the Program Directors. Previous Malibu work experience preferred. Knowledge of sound systems (set-up and mixing) is required. Also required to take digital pictures and coordinate, edit and duplicate CDs for campers. Must be good with people, able to follow directions, detail oriented, and dependable.
Guest Services (Harbour)
To maintain and safely operate certain equipment directly related to the camp
program and to insure availability and service to guests. Supervisor: Harbour
Master
Blob Lifeguard - Must have current Lifesaving certification. Responsible for the safe operation of the Blob and Tower Swing under the supervision of the Harbour Master. Will assist other dock personnel as needed.
Dock Manager (2) - Must have a general knowledge of small boat operations, maintenance and safety required for operation. Inner Dock Manager will manage and supervise the inner dock activities including use of kayaks, canoes and rowboats. Outer dock Manager will coordinate caribe, tubing, knee boarding and safety at the Outer Dock. Current Lifesaving certification an asset.
Pool Lifeguard - Must be fully qualified for direct supervision and operation of the swimming pool. Current NLS, WSI or similar certification is required. Will operate, guard, and maintain the swimming pool, pool area and sand volleyball court. Is responsible for basic pool maintenance and pool safety.
Sailing Instructor - Will run the sailing program at Outer Dock. Experience rigging and sailing lasers and operation of a small outboard is helpful. Responsible for equipment and guest safety. Current Lifesaving certification and first aid is an asset.
Ski Instructor - Must have practical knowledge of water skiing and wake boarding. Able to instruct and encourage beginners. Patience, good people skills, and organizational skills a must. Current Lifesaving certification an asset.
Zip Line (1) - Responsible for the safe operation and supervision of the zip line. Zip boat driver must have previous boat driving experience. Must be detail oriented and safety conscious. A strategic area for a mature Christian with strong people skills and the gift of encouragement. Will work closely with 2 Work Crew. This is dependant on a decision to have this individual certified. I believe there will be further discussion on this at the Property Managers meeting. If it needs to be certified than it will be an intern position.
Outdoor Crew
To operate and maintain the Malibu property and equipment in a manner that
will
allow the finest possible setting for the presentation of the gospel and camp
program. Supervisor: Property Superintendent
Recycling Tech - Will be responsible for complete camp refuse collection and disposal on a scheduled basis. Must be a self-starter. Gets to burn things. Will work closely with 1 Work Crew.
Landscape (2) - Must have a basic knowledge of lawn and grounds maintenance, plus experience using power equipment (mowers, weed eaters, blowers, etc.). Is fully responsible for the upkeep of the golf course, flowers, and boardwalks. Will work closely with 2 Work Crew.
Maintenance (2) - Basic knowledge of carpentry, woodwork, and mechanics an asset. Work experience preferred. Will assist in repairs, improvements, projects, and daily operations as directed.
Retail Sales
To provide retail sales in food and gifts and provide excellence in customer
service and operations. Supervisor: Retail Manager
Craft Cart - Must have a broad general knowledge of crafts and ability to teach others. A good organizer with an outgoing personality is required. Will supervise and teach crafts program. Will provide a meaningful program to complement other guest activities.
Totem Inn (Snack Shop) (2) - Previous ice cream shop and coffee shop experience is helpful. Service attitude and flexibility necessary. Will serve customers of the Totem Inn and assist in the ice cream making process. Is responsible for providing service to guests.
Club Café (Coffee Shop) (2) - Previous coffee shop experience is mandatory. Service attitude and flexibility necessary. Will serve customers of the Hamiltons Espresso bar.
Totem Trader (Clothing Store) (2) - Must have a good knowledge of retail operations. This person should possess a strong ability to meet and serve the public. Will operate the Malibu Totem Trader under the direction of the Retail Manager and will balance daily receipts. Responsible for maintaining an attractive, profitable store.
