Psalm 1: 1-3
How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked nor stand in the
path of sinners nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the
Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by
streams of water which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither and in
whatever he does he prospers.
1 Corinthians 9: 24-27
Do you not know that in a race all runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a
way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.
They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last
forever. Therefore, I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man
beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to
others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
Matthew 13: 31-32
He told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a
man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when
it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the
air come and perch in its branches."
Psalm 23:1-6
The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads
me beside quite waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness
for his name sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no
evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou dost prepare a
table before me in the presence of my enemies; Thou hast anointed my head with oil; My cup
overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And
I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
John 15: 1-5
